- 3 medium very ripe bananas
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted
- 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash bananas in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream together butter and sugar, then add eggs one at a time. Mix in the mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla.
- Divide the batter, mixing one part with melted chocolate and cocoa. Alternate spoonfuls of each batter into the pan, then swirl.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes. Cool before slicing.
Notes
For a healthier version, substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose and use a natural sweetener in place of sugar.
