Ingredients
Scale
- 6 medium corn tortillas, cut into quarters
- 1 cup red or green salsa
- 1/2 cup queso fresco, crumbled
- 1/4 cup crema (or sour cream)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon oil (for frying)
- Optional toppings: avocado slices, diced onions, radish slices
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Fry the tortilla pieces until they start to crisp, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Reduce the heat and add the salsa to the pan, coating the tortillas evenly. Simmer for 5 minutes until the tortillas are just softened.
- Serve hot, topped with queso fresco, a drizzle of crema, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro. Add any additional toppings as desired.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add chopped jalapeños or use a hot salsa.
- Vegan substitutions can be made by using dairy-free cheese and crema.
