  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons water + 1 tablespoon cornstarch for the sauce
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup green beans, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the wet and dry batters in separate bowls. Dip chicken pieces in the wet batter, then coat with the dry batter.
  2. Fry chicken pieces until golden and crispy. Drain on a wire rack.
  3. Sauté vegetables until soft. Set aside.
  4. For the sauce, combine soy sauce, honey, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, red pepper flakes, sesame oil, and garlic in a pan. Simmer. Thicken with cornstarch and water.
  5. Toss fried chicken and vegetables in the sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds.
  6. Serve with steamed rice or noodles.
