- 1 (8.5 oz) package cornbread mix
- 1 (14.75 oz) can creamed corn
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1½ lbs ground beef
- 1 (15 oz) can sloppy joe sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a 13×9 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix cornbread mix, creamed corn, eggs, milk, and 1 cup of cheese. Pour into the baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
- While the base is baking, cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned, then mix in the sloppy joe sauce.
- Remove the base from the oven, spread the beef mixture over it, top with remaining cheese, and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
