Description

An easy and delicious Sloppy Joe French Bread Pizza recipe that’s perfect for a quick meal or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf French bread, halved lengthwise
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  • Prepare the bread: Place the halved French bread on the prepared baking sheet, cut side up.
  • Cook the beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
  • Add vegetables: Add the diced onion and green bell pepper to the skillet with the ground beef and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened.
  • Make the sauce: Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened slightly.
  • Assemble: Spread the sloppy joe mixture evenly over the halved French bread.
  • Add cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the sloppy joe mixture.
  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh chopped parsley, if desired, before slicing and serving.
