- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups chopped green cabbage
- 2 cups cooked ham, diced
- 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon flour (optional, for thickening)
Cooking Instructions
In a large pot, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft.
Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Stir in cabbage, ham, and potatoes. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle in flour (if using) and stir well to coat.
Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes, until potatoes and cabbage are tender.
Stir in heavy cream, milk, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring gently.
Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
