Ingredients
  

Bread and Spread

  • 8 slices sturdy sandwich bread (such as white or sourdough)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

Filling

  • 1 ½–2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup pizza sauce or marinara
  • 6–8 oz pepperoni slices (or your favorite pizza toppings)
  • Optional: fresh basil or oregano for garnish
  • Optional: extra cheese or toppings like mushrooms, bell peppers, olives

Cooking Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix until smooth.
  • Spread the garlic-butter mixture on one side of each bread slice.
  • Place one buttered slice, butter-side down, in a heated skillet over medium heat.
  • Spread pizza sauce on the bread in the skillet, then layer with shredded mozzarella and pepperoni (or your chosen toppings).
  • Top with more cheese if desired and then cover with a second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  • Cover the skillet with a lid to help the cheese melt. Cook 3–5 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  • Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side until it’s golden and the cheese is fully melted.
  • Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
